Provider directories are expensive to print and mail. The long production process caused much of the information to be obsolete by the time they were delivered. The HMO wanted to produce member-specific Provider Directories, quickly, at a cost lower than traditional lithographic printing.
Crestec's solution was to stop producing the frequently obsolete directories lithographically and start producing them digitally On-Demand. Rather than produce and print a directory of all providers in the Southern California area, we supply each subscriber with a directory of providers within a radius of their home. We took over the management of the HMO's data to produce a single personalized directory containing only the providers near each subscriber. This solution reduced the HMO's inventory investment and virtually eliminated their directory's obsolescence while delivering a much more personalized service to their subscribers. And the new directories are smaller and cost less to mail.
